Thanks to everyone who participated in Elite-Dragon-Artists's second contest (elite-dragon-artists.deviantar… )!  The entries were top notch and judging was no easy task. :D

Before moving on to the official winner announcement, I want to take the time to thank all of our donators who were able to give prizes, llamas and/or points for our winners. You guys rock and really made this contest worthwhile for all the participants!!!!! <3

Decisions were based on creativity, design, and plausibility.  To say the least, there was an incredible amount of all three in the entries, and you can bet it was a toughie to make final decisions, even with the criteria.

So without further ado, here are the winners!!!!!

First Place receives: 1000 points, a full-color drawing of the winning design or a character of your choice from cudo215, a full-color drawing with transparent background from ReapersMenagerie, a chibi avatar dragon from MSO-Hessai, a watercolor dragon from xHybridus, a full-color drawing with shading from FlowFlame, and a llama from Hawktal0n, MilicaClk, and FlowFlame.

And the winner is... *drumroll*

Judge comments: there is so many cool features thrown into this design, it's hard to know where to start.  The idea behind the nose, the design of the antlers, the use of camouflage in an unexpected way, the hunting method, and the slim but rugged look... all lend a hand to create a unique dragon that looks like it has evolved to live in the Earth's coldest regions.  Congrats!

Second Place receives: 500 points, a sketch drawing from cudo215, a chibi avatar dragon from MSO-Hessai, and a llama from MilicaClk.

Judge comments: the picture and the description definitely go hand-in-hand for this winning entry! You can tell a lot of thought went into the design and backstory for this dragon species, as well as into the art.  I was especially fascinated with the sexual dimorphism and hunting differences between the sexes!

Third Place receives: 250 points, a sketch drawing from cudo215, a chibi avatar dragon from MSO-Hessai, and a llama from MilicaClk.

:iconachiha-azteca: Achiha-Azteca Hunter of the Deep by Achiha-Azteca

Judge comments: loved the blend of mammal and dragon in this entry!  From the details about the fur and devolved wings to the creativity with the bio-luminescence for communication, this dragon certainly seems plausible and does not seem like something you'd want to run in to.

The winners will be featured in a journal from Elite-Dragon-Artists, as well as by cudo215 and Elilustratodo.

Honorable mentions:

I wasn't going to do honorable mentions originally, but there were two more entries I just had to share.  We will be including them in the contest features, along with the winners. <3

Thank you all again for participating in our contest!  I'm hoping we can get these contests to happen more regularly!!!

PS. Winners, stay tuned for prize give-outs. We'll get you connected to the donors!

Info, Rules and Regulations

Greetings, everyone! Elite-Dragon-Artists is a group dedicated to dragon artists!

If you would like to donate points to the group, please visit cudo215's page to help out! These points will go strictly towards contests.

How To Join:

1. Click the "join group" button.

2. In the message, tell us why you would like to join the group and list at least three links to your own dragon pieces.

Please note: If you were rejected because you didn't read the group rules, you are free to send in another join request that fulfills the requirements above.

Art Submission Rules:

1. We expect all artwork to be clean and professional. It must have something to do with dragons. It has to have excellent quality. We do not allow art on lined paper.

2. We accept photos of paintings and crafts, but we don't accept photos of smaller art pieces where shadows and wrinkles obscure the image. If it's a clean and clear photo of an art piece cutout, that'll be fine.

3. Please no duplicates of the same piece of artwork, even if it's from different angles. We need to give every piece of art a fair chance at being seen in the gallery.

Art That We Accept:

Dragons of all forms. We accept fan art, anthropomorphic, and anime. We do not accept literature.

Where To Submit Your Art:

Artwork should be submitted to the appropriate folder. If you have done traditional art, then that goes into the "Traditional" folder. If your art is a reference sheet of a character, then that art goes into the "Reference Sheets" folder.

Please be aware that if you have a Digital, Traditional, 3D Model, Line Art, or Sculpture and Crafts piece, but the art has the intended use of being either an Adoptable, Reference Sheet or Tutorial, then you should put the art into the folder of intended use.

If Your Art Is Not Accepted:

Then either the artwork quality didn't go by the standards of the group or you submitted the art to the wrong folder.

Also be aware that there is a submission limit of 3 per day!
